GOTHMAS BY GASLIGHT: WE’RE OPEN.
It was a soft opening, I admit. I had the worst migraine of 2012 (easily) and a lot of people are just so slammed busy they weren’t ready on time (self included I might add.) but at this point I figure we can give the go ahead and tell everyone to come on up to Gothmas by Gaslight!
It’s SO pretty, folks, seriously. So very pretty.
New items and booths are being added daily. We have some left, actually so if you want one please let me know. I’ve encouraged people to rotate what they have available so there’s lots of reasons to come back again and again. There’s both gachas and straight sales available, so everyone is pretty well covered.
You can ice skate on the lake (we have the skating balls already out but we’ll get free skates for everyone out ASAP) and there’s areas in each corner plus a gothmas gingerbread house for you to take pictures in and around. Make sure to come back a lot, because seriously, everyone is busting their ass making new items to put in. The elves are busy, folks.

For actual bloggers, we’ll make OPTIONAL blogger packs available to bloggers who wish to hop on board to blog the event. Here’s what optional means, guys- it’s optional for the merchants to provide them, and it’s optional for the bloggers to blog them. I’m not the blogger police, and I’m definitely not the merchant police, either. I find this all works much more smoothly when everyone has a healthy dose of respect for everyone else, so let’s do that.
In short, I’m not the blogger police. No one is required to put out review copies for bloggers and no bloggers are required to blog everything they get review copies OF. Everyone is required to not act like a jackass(except Uffda, because he IS a jackass.). It’s pretty simple.

Dare Designs at Unhinged.
DD has 3 gachas at Unhinged, and there’s a freebie out there too.
The first one is a really cute knit winter sweater with a skull pattern around the bottom edge. It’s mesh, and comes with four sizes, (S,M,L and A- A fits me, so that basically means bigger boobs, a much more muscular torso, and a smaller ass than a standard size M.) and an alpha layer. The rare is blue- Eku’s favorite color. I really do like these sweaters, and it is getting cold outside. There’s also a DD gift card worth 500L in there as a rare too.
The second gacha contains boots- really, really REALLY nice ones. If you own Graveside, it’s the same pattern, and it works very nicely with shoes. The rare prize is (believe it or not) the fatpack containing ALL the colors. I was wandering around wearing these the other day- they look super and several people stopped to ask me about them.
The third gacha contains wacky skull rings in a wide variety of gemstone/metal combinations.
Both men and womens sizes are included.

Beautiful Freak at Unhinged.
Beautiful Freak has 2 different gachas (plus a freebie- I think it’s the Monster Mash ghost, but honestly I am not sure at this point) at Unhinged.
The first is a skull makeup called Disintegration. It’s got 3 different goth makeups, a full skull, a half skull, and several different skull transparencies. The rare is a fatpack containing all of the available variations.
The other gacha contains an eyeshadow design called Obake. Obake comes in 20 (no kidding seriously) colors and the rare prize is a fatpack containing all 20.
The Misery Consortium gets Unhinged.
Well I suppose the first thing I should mention is that the shops on DE are now collectively called the Misery Consortium. This really is just to save me a whole lot of typing. Once you get to 10 stores it becomes pretty tedious.
The second thing is that November 15 was the opening of Unhinged, a month long gacha/shopping/music festival to raise money for our friend, Eku Zhong. Eku needs a bone in her jaw replaced which has become dangerously compromised due to cancer and subsequent treatments. In order to get the new prosthetic, it must rather obviously be custom made, and the out of pocket costs of such a thing were exorbitant. A bunch of her friends got together (quite a lot of them, really) to help get her the cash she needs to get her face put back together properly. Eku and her partner also have a booth at the fair (and oh wow is the stuff in it cute, seriously.) But as for us, Beautiful Freak, Dare Designs, and House of Rain are there.
Dare built the music venue, and the first 24 hours were nonstop (I had two sets, myself.) Club Gothika is hosting the music (literally- they’re using our stream.) I’ve been asked to come back at least once more to put forth another set of big band swing and standards (which is likely to happen on Thursdays at 10am SLT, as it’s the only time I can realistically do it.) but you can see what sets are coming up by going to that link above.
So the next few posts will show the stuff we have going on at Unhinged and we really invite you to go down there and have a look around. A lot of people put an obscene amount of effort in a *VERY* short time to pull this together, and we’re all in it together to help Eku out.

GOTHIKA: The Dead Man’s Party 2012
It’s that time again, freakmonkeys. The infamous Club Gothika Dead Man’s Party is here once again at its usual date and time (that would be October 31 at 10pm SLT, if you didn’t know already.) The gang of misfits will be celebrating amateur hour with prizes from Beautiful Freak Cosmetics, Dare Designs, House of Rain, and {MV} in the Best In Halloween contest.
As always, the party starts at 10 and ends when everyone falls over. Yeah, yeah I know it’s October and not May, but still- come get your goth on.

Beautiful Freak: Basic Neutral Lipsticks (in matte and gloss finishes)

Lipstick basic neutrals come in 5 levels of opacity:
20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100%, You can use them on their own, or layered with other colors to modify their effects.
These lipsticks are designed to give you finer control over the lipsticks you already own, as well as be able to be worn by themselves. Here’s some examples of how they work:
In this example, a red gloss lipstick gets a dose of deep black liner with the aid of a 40% black gloss layer. This is good for taking what is otherwise a very normal color and giving it a goth twist.
You can also use these neutral basics to turn a matte shade into a glossier one, or vice versa.
In this case, a bright matte pink lipstick is made into a medium pink with a bit more shine, after adding a 20% layer of grey gloss, and the glossy blue had a bit of its shine removed by using a 20% black layer.
The white neutrals can not only give you a great 60’s vibe on their own, but they can also make a shade appear frosted:
You can turn a darker shade into one that’s more pastel:
Or make a clear shade more dusty (this is good for steamgoth applications, by the way.):
Of course you can always use these layers on their own, without the aid of another color. The versatility of these basic shades will allow you to get much, much more out of the lipsticks you already have in your inventory, providing you with exponentially more options than you had previously and allow you to play with colors you know you already love- because you already own them.
